Adventures in Sockland - Ep. 1The dryer buzzed, signalling to me that the fifth and final load of laundry was dry. Why did my dad have to be a soccer coach? Why couldn’t he have picked a sport with less mud, say croquet or something? Muttering curses about the weather, I reached into the dryer and removed the clothes. I was pretty sure I’d gotten everything, but I reached in, just to check, and felt something soft. I grabbed it to pull it out, but as I did so, the object disappeared. I looked into the dryer, thinking it had just slid, but there was nothing there. I didn’t really think about it, and went back to folding laundry. CurryA little known fact about curry is that it has magical powers. Nothing special, it won't make you float or fly, and it won't make someone fall in love with you. Well, maybe if you're a good cook the last part is true. If you're simply talking about curry powder, than it's ability is covering up any tastes. Not magical you say? Can you name anything else that covers up flavours so well and makes something seem appetizing? I didn't think so. Bus StopsBus stops are places where people are brought together and new friendships are forged. Everyone gathers there, from teachers to pyromaniacs and to lawyers. The richest and the poorest, anyone that has a place to go. Busses are forces that no one can control, not even those with immense wealth. The bus will arrive when it wants to, and you can't control it. When people realize this fact, they sometimes turn to their neighbour and attempt to strike up a conversations.
